About Dr. Carly.

I’m a Clinical Psychologist and Level 4 Advanced Trainer in David Burns’ TEAM-CBT, and I specialize in helping high-achieving individuals who often look successful on the outside but feel stuck in anxiety, perfectionism, or fear of rejection on the inside. I work with teens and adults—including Silicon Valley founders and executives—through a focused, intensive approach designed to create real, lasting change in a relatively short amount of time.

I was trained directly by Dr. Burns in his Stanford-based training group, and I’m one of the youngest Advanced Trainers globally in TEAM-CBT. Alongside this foundation, I’ve trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), and parts work, which I draw from when it fits the person and the moment. My work is especially rooted in helping people with social anxiety, fear of rejection, and difficulty showing up fully and authentically in relationships.

At the heart of my work is a simple goal: helping people feel more at ease being themselves. I help clients move through anxiety and self-doubt so they can build more honest relationships, feel more grounded in who they are, and experience more connection, clarity, and ease in their lives.

The Approach

I am certified to practice a highly effective approach for delivering Cognitive Behavioral Therapy called TEAM-CBT developed by Dr. David Burns, psychiatrist and professor emeritus at Stanford University School of Medicine. T-E-A-M is a process-based framework for conducting measurement and research-grounded therapy that offers rapid results.

T = Testing: I will use a measure at the beginning and end of every therapy session to understand your mood, track improvements, and allow you to provide feedback for me that accelerates your recovery.

E = Empathy: I will focus on establishing a warm therapeutic alliance with you to help you feel accepted, understood, and respected. An empathic connection is a key ingredient for success in therapy!

A = Addressing Resistance: I will collaborate with you to understand your goals and agenda in therapy, increase your motivation, and help you remove any barriers to making the changes you want.

M = Methods: I will offer a wide variety of over 100+ effective therapeutic tools to help you reach your goal of reducing anxiety and depression, improving your relationships, and/or overcoming unwanted habits. We will focus on methods that teach you how to change your thinking and the way you feel, overcome your fears, and feel confident to face challenges on your own even after our time together in therapy ends.
